Stupidity in general

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/03/obama_you_will_see_premiums_fa.html

Check that out, if you get the notion. It discusses President Obama talking to a crowd of 200 people about health care and insurance premiums. Basically, he asks the crowd how many have health insurance through their employer. After a show of hands, he proceeds to tell them that the insurance premium paid by their employer will drop by 3,000% (that's three thousand)if the health care bill is passed. It goes on to do the math and shows just how incredibly stupid this man is, or he thinks we are. Of course, the numbskulls in the crowd whoop and holler, like that figure is remotely possible. Hell, that's about as bad as when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said last year. "Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs." There are roughly 300 million people in the United States. These people will say anything to get what they want. I'm not saying the Republicans are perfect, but I think they realize there are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed. The majority of the American people don't want this health care bill passed, and the minority that want it either have something to gain from it, or are uninformed idiots that still believe the filthy, trashy lies coming out of this Administration and the Congressional Leadership. Were the American people not told during the Presidential campaign that Obama would bring transparency and bipartisanship to Washington? Filthy, trashy lie. What about what he said about lobbyists and special interests in The White House? Filthy, trashy lie. These liberals lie through their teeth, yet people will buy what their selling hook, line, and sinker. Pull your heads out, America. This Bozo's leading us down the wrong path...

Political Corectness- you're not going to find that here...

Political Correctness: Suppressing the expression of certain attitudes and the use of certain terms in the belief that they are too offensive or controversial.

I understand the need to not be offensive to everyone you come in contact with, But the thought of suppressing anything torques me off. Besides, when you paint a rosy picture where there's not one, that's just plain misleading, even lying in some cases. It seems to me the PC crowd doesn't want anything said that might hurt someone's feelings, even if what's being said is true. I think it's one of the main ingredients of failure, on any scale. Or, more accurately, the acceptance of failure. I understand not every person that ever attempts to do something is going to succeed brilliantly the first time they try it, but if you fail and you have the PC crowd telling you it's ok, that you're effort was good enough and you shouldn't HAVE to try any harder, well, prepare yourself for a life of mediocrity and shortcomings and never quite achieving your goals. Don't get me wrong- I am not of the opinion that if you don't make a million dollars and live in a mansion and drive a car that costs $100,000, you're a failure. Truth is, it doesn't matter what I think. Or what you think. Or anybody else thinks, for that matter. As long as that person is happy with the circumstances they find themselves in- if not, they are taking action to make the circumstances like they want them to be- it's nobody's business. And if, for some reason, that person is not happy, then it's their responsibility to get off their duff and make something happen. If they seek advice and the adviser tells them they should stop staying out til daybreak and sleeping til 2 in the afternoon, oh and leave the dope alone, and ditch that group of clowns you hang out with, and get a job and show up for work, and work while you're there, that's not being crass or rude. If that person is doing those things, it's probably a bit of a problem for them to be a productive member of society, or to be successful at what they want to be successful at. Of course, if that person is happy with their life as it is, it's their business. THAT'S WHAT I THINK...

The whole Mid East thing...

these are the ravings of a madman I'm sure, but I have been of the opinion for a long time, that we should just bomb the fuck out of the whole region and claim it for ourselves. I believe in "Live and let live", but these asshole aren't going to let us live peaceably. This country is the greatest nation to ever be on the planet in the history of mankind. We have the best technology, we are free to live our lives without worrying about some bullshit asshole telling we can't do this or that. for the most part. We have troops in the Middle East Theater- have you heard the latest rules of engagement? Absolute bullshit. I understand not wanting to kill or endanger women and children, but, do they not know their country is a war zone? If the assholes want to plant bombs and enlist children to come stand near them while they do it, what kind of animals are they? What kind of parents- grown folks- would think it was ok to let their kids play, stand, or be near a place that these sick fucks are planting bombs? "Religion of Peace"? I think not. I say we nuke the whole damn place and claim it for ourselves. Other countries would be pissed, but they'd be pissed because they didn't have the balls to do it themselves. Think about it- gas would be 10 cents a gallon- not $2.60 or whatever it is where you live. Think about this- our prisons are over crowded. Send the lifers and death row inmates to work the oil fields. Prisons would be manageable and crime would reduce, because they don't want to go to "The Desert". Oh, and the threat to the greatest nation to ever grace this planet would be gone for generations. Any country that even had the slightest thought of fucking with The United States of America would keep that thought buried deep down and hidden away for fear of being wiped off the map. Hell, we could send a fleet of Apaches over there and not bother with the nukes. Just think- no longer would Our Fair President have to bow to other world leaders; no more attacks or threats of attack to anything remotely American; our children, and their children, and their children, and so on would enjoy the same safety and security. If we get a President with some balls, maybe that'll happen. There will be some fallout, but fuck 'em- we're The United States of America...

Healthcare debate

What do you think about the health care meeting, debate, summit thing they are having today? Do you care? Do you think it'll do any good? As conservative minded person (not a full blown, Right Wing Bible thumper- maybe Libertarian is a better word?), and someone who half ass follows the news, I tend to agree with the idea that Our Fair President, whom I am not very fond of (I will explain that at a later time), planned to use the live coverage of this little meeting to embarrass the Republicans, much like he did the Supreme Court Justices at The State of the Union Address. Maybe I'm wrong. I just don't like the idea of the government getting any bigger than it already is. For example, I was driving through a hospital parking lot this morning, smoking a cigarrette. In this state, that's against the rules. Also in this state, when you buy a car, you pay sales tax on the vehicle. Every year when you renew your tags, you are assessed and have to pay personal property taxes on the same vehicle. That's kinda crazy, but back to the hospital. Here I am in my paid for vehcle, with taxes being paid on it every year, driving through a hospital parking lot where there are signs that say, "NO SMOKING ON HOSPITAL GROUNDS" or whatever. Now, in order to conduct business and do my job- perform my duties in a timely and efficient manner- I HAVE to go through this lot. The one with the sign that says I can't smoke in MY car, that is being taxed yearly. What kind of crap is that? Enough big government. Get out of people's way and let them be as successful as they want to be.

New Blog

I started this blog because I wanted to talk about things that interest me, on a site that is pretty much mine to do with as I please. I'll talk about politics, my social life (not much of a topic there), work- pretty much whatever. Feel free to check in from time to time, and comment if you'd like.
